Major issues and influences are affecting the workers' compensation industry today, and the response of the jurisdictional regulatory worlds has been diverse and wide ranging. Facing issues such as legalized marijuana, opioids, evidenced-based medicine, and pharmaceutical formularies, as well as a movement toward advocacy-based claims and inclusion of psycho-social considerations, what exactly is the state of our union when it comes to managing workers' comp?
